Notre Dame....impressive at first glance.
And even more impressive when you walk inside.
It smelled of burning candles and furniture polish.
It was dark.
Lit only by chandeliers and small stained glass windows.
It was a sight to behold.
During this particular visit,
a mass was taking place.
I'm not Catholic but deeply appreciated the experience.
In fact, my arms were covered with chills as a young lady stepped to the front,
and started to sing.
Her voice was mountain-moving powerful.
I leaned over to Dennis and whispered in his ear how impressed I was. In return, he said, "I'm guessing you have to be pretty spectacular to sing during mass at Notre Dame." Point made, Mr. Trusty.
After leaving the church we walked around the backside to for different view.
Particularly to check out the flying buttresses.
Honestly folks, the backside was more stunning than the front.
