Jack-Jack had a dream. And that dream included a tent.
A few weeks ago, Jack's dream came true and on his 5th birthday he was gifted a tent. Dennis has limited camping experience and I haven't been for 20 years. So, it was a no brainer to start out in our backyard.
Armed with sleeping bags and a battery operated lantern, this crew headed out into the wilderness...just a stones throw from the back patio.
I delivered drinks, books and snacks to my outdoorsmen.
And then hid in the shrubs like any respectable mother tying to grab a few photos of their first camping experience.
I returned to the house and snuggled into my bed (slightly thankful to be on baby duty) when I received a few FaceTime calls from the tent. Daddy said that they were telling scary stories and didn't want me to miss out on the fun. It turns out that Jack really got into it.
Jack told a story about an invisible bear that lives in the wooded area behind our house. A bear that likes to look for tents at night and roar at little children.
It must of been a good story because Jack told Daddy that he scared himself. Dennis must have believed him because they ended up sharing a sleeping bag for the night.
