This Summer our budding artist took part in a week-long art day camp. With Rosie away, we decided to have a little fun on our own.
A trip to pick blueberries was in order as we had grand plans to make a pie!
We rolled into Spencer Farm minutes before opening hoping to get started before the scorching heat.
That was the plan. What could go wrong?
Well, it turns out that they open a bit later on the weekdays.
Meaning lots of extra time to tease and pick at each other.
You would never guess who was the master-teaser on this morning. Ok. Maybe you could guess.
Forty minutes later we were in the field picking our hearts out.
This was Will's first time and he took it very serious.
Maybe too serious.
He ate every single berry he picked.
As did his sister.
They lasted all of 15minutes before deciding that berry picking was work and they were officially done.
My Jack-Jack. He was a different story. Never giving up or quitting, he filled his basket to the top.
He was so proud.
And for good reason. He had "almost enough" to make a pie.
But something happened.
He started to eat those berries.
And before we ever left the farm, he shared them with his siblings.
By the time we got home, there was just a handful left, certainly not enough to make a pie. But that's ok. At the checkout counter, back at the farm, this mama bought a pie to bake at home. You know, just in case!
