Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

KristinaComment

I LOVE the month of December...especially Christmas!  Every year we travel to Granny's farm in northern Indiana for a big ol' celebration.  This year, I wanted to make sure that we got a photograph before the littles were covered in cheesecake and all of the other gooey delights that are up for grabs at the dessert table.  So, when we arrived we hopped out of the car and headed to the backyard.  Daddy carried the littles ones because I didn't want them to get muddy.  It was spitting rain most of the day.

Safely in the backyard, everyone got into position.  But it didn't last long.  Jack lost his balance and ended up on the ground.

With a quick dusting of the pants, we were ready to try again!

I guess the 3rd time was a charm.  We got a keeper!

Gran's house was buzzing like a beehive...stuffed to maximum capacity! We laughed, played games and enjoyed a yummy meal.  I even got gran to take a break from playing hostess for a picture!  Truly, she is the most kind hearted person I have ever met.

After the Christmas Eve celebration ended, we loaded up the car and headed home to The Big Brown House.   With  Gran in tow, we knew it would make for a special Christmas morning.  At 6:45, all of the littles opened their sleepy eyes and raced down to the tree.  Sure enough, Santa stopped with sleigh full of toys!

The big man made a special delivery...

Nola: American Girl Doll, Elsa Dress & an Easy Bake Oven

Jack: Red Bicycle, Zoomer the Dino & a Helicopter

Kate: Bitty Baby, Back Pack & Doll Stroller

Family Gift: A Bounce House

After a yummy brunch, we stayed in pjs and relaxed the rest of the day.

Everyone, tired and out of gas, was tucked in tight by 6pm.  D and I stayed up late chatting about the day, our children and how wonderful it was to have Katie-Hui home for the holidays. We also agreed that it was a tiny bit sad to have to wait another year for Christmas time to roll around again.

Oh, Christmas.  I love you.
