A few weeks ago, I was standing in the kitchen washing dishes when I heard the sweetest sound.... giggling from one of the front rooms. I peeked around the corner just in time to find Rosie and Jack discussing plans for a musical performance. I grabbed my camera and waited for the perfect shot when it dawned on me....that one day, my house that is full of all the happy noises that children make, will one day be quiet again. Yes, it was a sad thought but also a powerful one. It was a reminder to take a time out from the dishes and laundry to enjoy all the little, happy noises around me.
Granny is famous for several sayings and I couldn't help but think of her this day. She once asked me if I would rather have my grown children say that I kept a clean house or that I spent time with them every chance I could? So the next time you stop by, please leave the white gloves at home. You just might find a sink of dirty dishes or floors that need mopped!
Rosie and Jack playing their version of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." I love that Rosie has her blanket by her side!
